OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC WEIGHS IN ON SNOW OUTLOOK
The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting near or below normal snowfall across most of the nation this winter.
"However, greater amounts of snow are expected in much of the Carolinas, southern Appalachians, eastern Ohio Valley, southern Rockies, and eastern Desert Southwest," it says.
The almanac has issued weather predictions since its first edition in 1792 - and today claims 80% accuracy.
Denver has yet to see snowfall this month, but the National Weather Service sees a chance later this week in what would be one of the latest on record.
