The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office is seeking to identify three burglary suspects accused of cutting out copper pipes from a BBQ restaurant - most likely for sale to a junk dealer or scrap yard.
The current price of copper is about $4.85 per pound.
The daring burglary caused more than $100,000 in structural damages at Bono’s Pit BBQ in the 9300-block of East Dry Creek Road in Centennial on Sept. 7 at about 4:30 a.m.
Detectives determined burglars "entered the back patio, removed the copper pipes from several cooling units, stuffed them into suitcases, and fled the scene," the sheriff's office said.
