WOMAN SAFE AFTER HOSTAGE TAKING IN BOULDER

Matthew Kiriazis, 35, was charged with first-degree kidnapping after a woman was taken hostage early Sunday during a domestic dispute in Boulder, police said.

The suspect surrendered after a SWAT team was sent to a home on Edison Avenue. Medical personnel treated the victim - a woman, age 21 - at the scene, police said.

"Officers were told that the suspect, known to the victim, was threatening the victim," police said.
