NATIONAL NEWS: PRIVATE EYE SAYS HE'S SOLVED 'BLACK DAHLIA' AND 'ZODIAC' MURDERS

In national news, a high-tech private eye is pinning a pair of notorious California cold cases - the Black Dalia and Zodiac murders - on the same man, a former World War Two medic with surgical skills named Marvin Margolis, now deceased.

Alex Baber, 50, of West Virginia, used AI and codebreaking skills to reach his conclusion. His work was first reported by the Los Angeles Times.

The dissected remains of aspiring actress Elizabeth Short, 22, were found in a Los Angeles lot in 1947's Black Dahia case.
The Zodiac shooting and stabbing killings of at least five people spanned 1968 and 1969 in the San Francisco area. The killer taunted police with cypher messages.
