2 DIED IN PUEBLO COUNTY HOUSE BLAST; MAY HAVE BEEN ACCIDENT

A man and woman were killed in Thursday's explosion and fire at a home in the eastern Pueblo County community of Boone, the sheriff's office disclosed Friday. The cause of the blast - near 57th Lane and Cherry Road - is believed to have been accidental, officials said. A full investigation, by state and county officials, is in progress. The house was fully engulfed in flames. Debris was scattered about the property. "Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly," officials said. One body was located Thursday and the other on Friday morning. The county coroner "will release the names of the deceased and the manner and cause of death at the appropriate time," officials said. Boone is about 24 miles east of Pueblo and located on the Arkansas River.
