DEPUTY RUSHED TO HOSPITAL IN SHOOTING TRAGEDY; ANOTHER PERSON DEAD

UPDATE

A deputy was rushed to hospital in critical condition after a shooting in Adams County early Friday, the sheriff's office said.


Another person died. The deputy was shot several times in a stairwell. At least two people were apprehended.

Governor Jared Polis said: "We’re encouraged by updates about the deputy who was injured."
Residents of the Caraway Apartments said the incident occurred near or inside their building and some told of a standoff. An armored police vehicle was at the scene of the crime at the 74th Ave and Broadway. 

A neighbor told Denver 7: "We start hearing the banging. We start hearing more sirens coming in. And we were just like, whoa."

Fox 31 reports a resident said they heard a deputy shout "
I’ll tase you.” Another resident said: "All hell broke loose.”
