MAYHEM ERUPTS IN DENVER'S CAPITOL HILL AS ROCK, BULLETS FLY AT COPS; 1 PERSON HURT

UPDATE
Mayhem erupted on Denver's Capitol Hill on Saturday night after someone threw a rock at police conducting a traffic stop - and shots rang out.
Police said the gunfire was aimed at officers but they "did not return fire."
A person in the vehicle stopped by police was grazed by a bullet and suffered leg wound, and a person accused of throwing a rock was taken into custody, police said. The victim was taken to hospital while a SWAT team descended on scene and a police helicopter circled. The crazed incident - in the 1300-block of Logan Street, near East Colfax Avenue - prompted a shelter in place order and
extensive road shutdowns, police said. A witness told Denver 7: "I went outside and immediately saw over a dozen police officers all with their weapons drawn on a certain apartment complex across the street."

"I was approached by a police officer and told to go back inside because there were shots had been fired in my direction," the witness said.
