MORE THAN ONE WAY TO OPEN A GARAGE DOOR

A wooden fence fire spread to a home in Lakewood late Wednesday and firefighters stopped the blaze from leaping beyond the garage. West Metro Fire said: "The first 911 call came in at 11:38 pm, from a neighbor who could see a fire at the end of the street. Other callers reported a fire on the fence between two houses. One neighbor grabbed a fire extinguisher in an attempt to put it out." Armed with heavy duty cutting tools, firefighters sliced into the garage. No injuries were reported in the fire on Hoyt Court near Baltic Avenue. [Photo: West Metro Fire]
