Rural fire crews responded to a series of wrecks along I-70 in eastern Colorado Friday as snow and ice struck - a sudden shift from days earlier when they battled a 5,000-acre wildfire. Agate Fire said: "Our firefighters worked long hours alongside mutual aid partners to protect property, livestock, and open space across our communities. Then by Friday, Mother Nature flipped the script. Snow and ice rolled in, turning highways slick and dangerous."
