CLIMBER RESCUED AFTER MOUNTAIN PLUNGE

Firefighters using ropes rescued a critically injured climber who plunged from a rocky perch. The Colorado Spring Fire Department crew hiked to the patient who fell 25 to 30 feet at North Cheyene Canon Park. "About three hours after arrival the climber was brought down to the bottom of the mountain and loaded in an ambulance," officials said. "They were then transported to a medical helicopter and flown to a hospital in critical condition." The climber wasn't wearing a helmet, officials said. The incident occurred Monday.
