Firefighters rescued a worker pinned against a canopy "in a complex and time-critical situation" in Denver, the fire department said.
The freak accident occurred at the King Soopers fuel island near Havana Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard on Tuesday.
"Thanks to the quick and coordinated actions of Truck 26 and Engine 26, with District 5 in command, crews were able to safely extricate the patient and rapidly transfer care to Denver Health Paramedics," official said. The patient required surgery after what officials described as a "high-stakes rescue." [Photo: Denver Fire Department]
