HIKING TRAGEDY AT NATIONAL MONUMENT IN MESA COUNTY


A hiker was fatally injured in a fall at the Colorado National Monument in Mesa County, search and rescue officials disclosed Thursday. The tragedy occurred Sunday. A rescuer "rappelled over the edge to provide medical assessment," officials said. [Photo: Mesa County Search & Rescue]
