HOLY STATUES CHISELED FROM CHURCH IN DOWNTOWN DENVER

A skateboard-riding thief made off with statues of St. Rita and St. Paul that stood outside Holy Ghost Church in downtown Denver since it opened in 1943.

The crook used a variety of tools in the pre-dawn crime, based on surveillance video.

The pastor,
Father Paul Nguyen, told Fox 31: "They were chiseled right off the church.”

The building is located at 1900 California Street. The theft occurred last week.
