A woman brandishing a gun was shot and killed by Longmont police.
The incident occurred at a home in the 1500-block block of East Third Avenue on Thursday.
Police attempted to "negotiate with the individual, urging her to exit the residence without any weapons," officials said.
"However, after some time and further attempts to get her to come out of the property unarmed, she emerged from the garage brandishing a firearm and was subsequently shot by an officer," officials said.
Police had responded to the home on a report of a suicidal person.
