The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday the suspect in the homicide of a 5-year-old boy is the victim’s brother, aged 11.
"He is facing charges of first-degree murder," the sheriff's office said. The cause of death was not disclosed. The crime occurred on South Jerico Way in Centennial on Tuesday.
Sheriff Tyler Brown said: "Tragedies like this impact not only the
family, but also classmates, teachers, and neighbors throughout the community."
The suspect was detained at the Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center in Centennial, the sheriff's office said.
