A fuel truck erupted in flames early Monday, shutting down busy South Santa Fe Drive near Chenango Avenue in Littleton.
The blaze, near a U-Haul lot, was contained to the wreckage and firefighters let the fuel burn off, officials said. No injuries were reported. Santa Fe was closed for hours.
South Metro Fire and Denver Fire responded as did the South Metro Hazmat Team. The alarm came in at 5:23 a.m. Littleton and Englewood police were also on the scene.
