PUEBLO'S 'CHRISTMAS PIG' ESCAPES DEADLY BLAZE

"Jovie the Christmas Pig" - a Pueblo potbelly with a social media page - survived a fire that claimed the lives of three cats and two guinea pigs.

In addition to Jovie, four dogs survived the April 10 blaze, the Pueblo Fire Department said, adding that there were no human casualties. The structure was a total loss. Homeowner Melissa Licon told KRDO13: "Thank goodness my dogs were on alert. They started barking."

A vet helped one of the dogs, whose supply of insulin was lost in the blaze, the fire department said.
