YOUTH ARRESTED IN SHOOTING ON NORTH IRVING STREET IN DENVER

A youth was arrested as a suspect in a shooting on North Irving Street in Denver, police said Friday.

"It appears he may have accidentally shot an acquaintance in the leg while handling the firearm," police said. The suspect, whose age wasn't disclosed, was detained for investigation of second-degree assault as well as possession of a handgun by a juvenile. The victim was transported to hospital from the 1400-block of North Irving Street on Thursday night.
