Razzle, a dog surrendered to a vet, delivered four puppies after an emergency caesarian section, the Denver Animal Shelter said.
All five have found new families.
Razzle was "struggling to give birth" and the surgery saved her life and the lives of her puppies, the shelter said. "Razzle and her family came to the shelter, where they got the care they needed and a chance to heal in a loving foster home," the shelter said. Razzle was adopted by her foster family.
