A small aircraft crashed in a field moments after departing a private airstrip in South Fork and ignited a grass and weed fire.
The pilot and a passenger climbed out of the wreckage near Shoshone Trail. They suffered minor injuries in Tuesday's mishap.
"After experiencing engine power issues, the occupants were attempting to land at Chapman Field," South Fork Fire said.
Chapman Field is located east of South Fork.
