WEST METRO FIREFIGHTER CRITICALLY INJURED IN 50-FOOT PLUNGE

UPDATE

A West Metro firefighter sustained serious injuries during specialized training Wednesday near Morrison.
Jarrod Leonard plunged about 50 feet at the high-angle rescue exercise in steep, rocky terrain west of C-470, officials said. He was admitted to hospital in critical condition. "Jarrod has served the West Metro community for more than 23 years and is one of our technical rescue instructors, helping train firefighters in the specialized skills needed to perform rescues in some of the most challenging environments," officials said.

Leonard is also a paramedic. [Photo: West Metro Fire]
