ARREST IN SUNDAY'S MURDER IN AURORA

A suspect in a weekend murder in Aurora was arrested Monday at a motel in Colorado Springs.

Aurora police identified the suspect as Armanni Baraka Woods, 31, of Colorado Springs. He faces charges of first-degree murder after deliberation.
The victim's body was discovered Sunday morning on a sidewalk at South Galena Street and East Warren Avenue. He was shot nearby several hours earlier in the 2200-block of South Havana Street. "Woods was arrested without incident at a Colorado Springs motel by the Aurora Police Department fugitive unit, with assistance from the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Tactical Unit, K9 Unit and Real Time Crime Center," police said. The dead man was 49.
