In a very close call, four lucky kittens - each obviously "born with nine lives" - were discovered under the cushions of an old sofa that was hauled to the Chaffee County landfill.
"We are happy to report that they are safe, all healthy, and back in the care of their mother," the sheriff's office said. Officials advised residents to " inspect your trash before dumping at the landfill." [Photo: Chafee County Sheriff]
