This summer's ferocious Aspen Acres Fire devoured more than 100,000 acres of Pueblo, Custer and Huerfano counties. Today, the land is already in the early stages of recovery.
Planet earth is an amazing place. After the historic inferno, "crews focused heavily on repairing fire damaged areas which helps control erosion and improve drainage," fire officials explained. "This work helps support early stages of natural regrowth."
"As vegetation returns, insects, pollinators, and wildlife follow, marking the gradual restoration of the local ecosystem," officials said.
"Wildfire recovery takes time, but each new sprout is a powerful reminder of nature’s resilience," they said.
