WOMAN INTENTIONALLY CAUSED FATAL CRASH ON I-70 NEAR LOMA

A coroner determined a drunken woman killed in a head-on crash on I-70 near the Utah state line intentionally caused the blazing collision, the Colorado State Patrol said Monday.

Her auto struck a pickup truck, seriously injuring the male driver from Thornton as well as two women and three child passengers.

The woman, a resident of Colorado Springs, was traveling alone and had a blood alcohol level of
0.235, well above the legal limit of 0.08.

She was headed east and crossed into the westbound lanes near Loma in Mesa County on July 20. Her car burst into flames, according to the patrol.

If you or someone you know is suffering a serious mental health issue, call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.
