A police officer armed with a taser zapped a youth armed with an illegally modified firearm and more than 30 rounds of ammunition in Pueblo. The incident occurred Tuesday at Ray Aguilara Park at 715 McCulley Avenue, officials said. Patrol cars were dispatched after city-owned surveillance cameras spotted a group of people consuming alcohol - including the youth with the firearm in his waistband. When police arrived, the youth "began reaching for his waistband before attempting to run," officials said. When he ignored police commands, an officer "effectively deployed his taser."
The youth was taken into custody and booked into Pueblo Youth Services Center.
