MAN ARRESTED ON TRIBAL LAND AS SUSPECT IN WIFE'S MURDER

Blas Salazar, 59, of Ignacio, was arrested on tribal land in southwest Colorado as a suspect in the murder of his wife, Herberta, 31, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced Tuesday.

The woman's body was discovered at the couple's home Saturday evening in
600-block of Shoshone Drive during a welfare check by Ignacio police.

Salazar was arrested early Sunday off La Plata
County Road 521 on Southern Ute Tribal Trust land. He suffered what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds.

Southern Ute Reservation headquarters is located in Ignacio, which is
24 miles southeast of Durango. The suspect isn't indigenous, according to investigators.
