Police in south Texas arrested a fugitive tow truck driver wanted by Aurora police on charges of shooting and wounding his wife, officials said Tuesday.
A Texas state trooper stopped Juan Carlos Rivera Garcia, 42, and another man near the Mexican border in an SUV. Gracia's wife suffered multiple gunshot wounds inside a home on East Virginia Place in Aurora on June 16 - and he fled in a black, white and gray flatbed tow truck. The Aurora Police Department's fugitive and narcotics unit developed information that Garcia was headed toward the border and alerted law enforcement agencies in other states. Garcia, a
native of Honduras, was booked into the Maverick County, Texas, jail last Thursday. He will be extradited to Colorado and faces charges of attempted murder, assault, child abuse and domestic violence.
