The Denver Post reports a father tasered by Aurora police asked officers why his family was being confronted in a Walmart parking lot, according to police body camera video released by his civil rights lawyers.
The city of Aurora contends the officers - their weapons drawn - were responding to a possible kidnapping, the Post reports.
The family, who are black, had been at a hospital seeking treatment for their son but declined after receiving conflicting medical advice, a lawsuit says. The hospital reported possible child endangerment to police.
The Denver Gazette reports the population of unauthorized immigrants to the U.S. residing in Colorado rose by more than 40,000 over two years, citing research data.
