FLYING TIRE KILLS I-25 DRIVER

A motorist died in a freak, flying-tire accident on I-25 in Lone Tree. A vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes Tuesday was "struck by a tire" that broke off a vehicle traveling northbound, officials said. "The driver of the southbound vehicle sustained fatal injuries from the collision with the tire," officials said. "The driver of the vehicle traveling northbound pulled to the shoulder of the road and remained at the scene until law enforcement arrived." The accident occurred near Ridgegate Parkway.
