SEEK FRESH CLUES IN 1983 MURDER

UPDATE

The Weld County Sheriff's Office is seeking fresh clues in a murder that occurred four decades
and named a suspect, Benedicto Samuel Carrion, officials said Saturday.

Cold Case Detective Byron Kastilahn said: “If you have known Benedicto and have information on this case we want to hear from you. You never know what even a small amount of information can lead to.”

The victim, Alex Casimiro Morado, 29, was spending time at the at Bruce's Bar in Severance on Oct 23, 1983, and left the bar in the company of others.

Investigators determined as argument ensued on Weld County Road 74, five miles east of Eaton. 
Morado's body was found two days later in an irrigation ditch west of Weld County Roads 74 and 27, near Severance, with stab wounds.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said Carrion is still alive. He is believed to be 80.
