Gunfire erupted during a large fight in Denver early Sunday, injuring three people. A police officer arriving on the scene shot at an armed suspect who fled.
The bullets flew in the 5100-block of North Biscay Street and police recovered two handguns.
The wounded "were struck during the exchange prior to the officers' arrival," Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said at a news briefing, adding they are expected to survive.
In a separate incident, a person was stabbed Saturday in the vicinity of West Nevada Place and South Osceola Street in Denver.
