The Denver Zoo is in mourning after Winnie, its loveable Southern tamandua, gave birth to a premature pup that died Sunday. The child arrived three weeks early. Medics "worked tirelessly over the weekend to try to stabilize the baby," zoo officials said. "Despite their best efforts, the pup sadly passed away" "This outcome was unexpected and has been a hard loss for our teams," officials said.
