Colorado's mountain snowpack is "the worst it's been in more than half a century," a top Denver Water official tells CBS Denver.
It's sitting at about 46% of the typical average in the Upper Colorado River Basin above Dillon, water utility data show.
There's hope, though. February, March and April are often snowier than October, November and December.
Dillon Reservoir is Denver Water's largest reservoir.
