Authorities suspect an overheated phone battery caused a raging fire that destroyed a mobile home Saturday in Lakewood.
The occupants escaped the blaze at near 14th Avene and Allison Street. "The lithium-ion battery in the phone overheated, igniting the combustible items around it, causing the fire to quickly spread throughout the structure," West Metro Fire Rescue said. Neighbors called 911. No injuries were reported. [Photo: West Metro Fire Rescue]
