The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office disclosed Wednesday that a man riding in a Jeep Cherokee - who is accused of brandishing an AR-15 semi-automatic weapon at another auto on I-70 - was seated next to a baby.
The suspect "allegedly pointed a black, smaller length, rifle at a Ford Bronco near Veterans Memorial Tunnel on Sunday, the sheriff's office said. There were 4 adults and a 10-month-old child traveling in the Cherokee.
"Officers found a handgun and AR-15 (matching the victim's description and disassembled into two parts) on the floor in front of the baby seat, along with another handgun in the glove compartment ... an a 40-round magazine loaded with 39 rounds of ammunition," officials said.
Gage Fritz, 25, of Aurora, faces charges of reckless endangerment, prohibited use of a weapon and child abuse with further weapons charges are pending, officials said. There were no injuries.
