A small aircraft crashed and broke its nose Sunday in the Eagle County community of Dotsero, the sheriff's office said.
The pilot, a man aged 48, climbed out of the wreckage with a minor cut. He was flying solo.
Vail Public Safety Communications received a Garmin alert from the crash site at 1230 Sweetwater Road at about 2 p.m. and dispatched emergency services.
"It is believed that the aircraft experienced engine failure and clipped a tree," the sheriff's office said. [Photos: Eagle County Sheriff's Office]
