SUSPECT SHOT BY EDGEWATER COP DIES

A gunman shot by an Edgewater police officer has died, officials said Monday.

Barry Michael Sullivan, 48, pulled a gun and shot at the officer after a traffic accident. The officer wasn't hit.

Saturday's shooting occurred in the vicinity of West 32nd Avenue and Pierce Avenue in Wheat Ridge. The Edgewater officer was following the auto carrying Sullivan as a passenger. The driver was arrested.
