FIREFIGHTERS SAVE 'ICE DOG' FROM POND IN EVERGREEN

Firefighters went to the aid of a lucky dog named "Rosie" stranded in an icy pond in Evergreen - and she kissed one of her rescuers when they reached shore.

"Her owner was smart enough to call 911 versus taking the risk of trying to save Rosie herself," according to Evergreen Fire/Rescue, and "firefighters quickly got on scene with cold water protection gear to safely bring her back to shore." Rosie escaped serious injury after Wednesday's spill. Fire officials said: "Thin ice conditions are prevalent right now, please use extra precaution around ponds, lakes and streams especially with critters and kiddos."
