Fire broke out at an industrial plant Thursday near Grand Junction, authorities said.
Utility crews cut off a gas line feeding the flames and firefighters gained the upper hand at about 11:30 a.m. and extinguished the blaze at Golden Gate Petroleum at 1629 21 Road. No injuries were reported.
Twelve fire apparatus - from the Lower Valley Fire District in Fruita and Grand Junction Fire Department - raced to the plant and shuttled and pumped water to cool the burning unit until the Xcel utility crews closed the gas line.
Grand Junction firefighters deployed a drone to monitor the blaze from above.
