A rescued Northern Saw-whet owl has taken flight after six weeks of rehabilitation, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said Friday. Weighing just 3 ounces, the owl was found Dec. 21 near Crestone in the San Lus Valley with an injured right wing and taken to Frisco Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for treatment.
It returned to its old neighborhood this week.
