BOYFRIEND ACCUSED IN GREELEY SHOOTING, STANDOFF

A man accused of shooting his girlfriend's adult son surrendered after a brief standoff in Greeley, police said Wednesday.

The shooting occurred during a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex in the 1700-block of 6th Avenue on Tuesday. Police said: "A 'Reverse 911' was issued at 4:23 p.m., advising nearby residents to shelter in place. Following 25 minutes of negotiation, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident, lifting the shelter order.
