CRASH KILLS SKIER ON BRECKENRIDGE PEAK 8

A skier died Wednesday in an accident at Breckenridge Ski Resort, the Summit County Sheriff's Office said.

The man, who was visiting from out of state, crashed in the Lake Chutes, a double-black-diamond, hike-to area, on Peak 8. "The initial investigation shows that the skier, who was wearing a helmet, was alone when he fell," the sheriff's office said. "No other skiers or riders were involved in the crash." The skier was pronounced dead at the Peak 8 First Aid Room.
