SPEED DEMON TEEN CLOCKED AT 105 MPH IN COMMERCE CITY

A teen was stopped for speeding at 105 mph in a 35-mph zone with his little brother - and police called their mother to the scene and wrote her up.

The "egregious and flabbergasting" case occurred in construction lanes on Highway 2 in Commerce City on Monday, police said. The teen is 16 and isn't licensed.

"The kid is lucky we didn't end up charging him with child abuse for putting his brother in danger like he did," police said. They did, however, cite him for reckless driving and speeding, no license and no insurance - and impounded the car. His mother "got a stern talking to" and a citation for repeatedly allowing the boy to use the car, police said, noting fines are doubled in highway construction areas. [Photos: Commerce City police]
