A police officer shot a man armed with a rifle Tuesday during a standoff in Denver.
The officer ordered the man to "drop the weapon and stop his advance," Police Chief Ron Thomas told reporters. "He disregarded those commands."
The incident occurred in an alley on South Quitman Street after the man threatened people in the neighborhood. Thomas said the man didn't fire his weapon.
The suspect was transported to hospital. The officer fired multiple shots.
