Hero cops stormed into an inferno at an Aurora apartment building, knocking on doors - kicking them open if necessary - to wake up and evacuate 50 sleeping residents.
"For over half an hour, we went door-to-door ensuring every resident was accounted for - knocking down those doors if we had to," police said. "Flames spread quickly and we continued to evacuate residents."
Firefighters, meantime, saved trapped residents by ladder as Monday's three-alarm blaze devoured the building at 797 Dillon Way. Just two people were transported to hospital for the effects of smoke inhalation.
