ARREST IN LARIMER STREET KILLING IN DENVER

Edgardo Jimenez-Alvarad, 30, was arrested as a suspect in a fatal assault in downtown Denver, police said Sunday.

The victim, a man, was attacked Saturday evening at 1300 Larimer Street, a park near North Speer Boulevard, and pronounced dead at hospital.

The suspect, who faces a charge of first-degree murder, was arrested in the vicinity of 14th and Champa streets shortly after the assault.

A witness provided a detailed account of the assault to officers, leading them to the suspect, police said.
