The Daily Camera reports a moose injured a 67-year-old woman hiking on Forest Service Road 505 trail west of Nederland.
The beast “got spooked,” Nederland Fire Protection District Chief Charlie Schmidtmann told the newspaper.
The woman suffered a minor injury during Monday morning's mishap and was transported to hospital by ambulance, according to the Daily Camera.
