BURGLARY SUSPECTS FLEE ON PADDLE BOARDS IN JEFFERSON COUNTY

A pair of teen burglary suspects were arrested after fleeing into the middle of a lake on paddle boards, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

"With help from the City of Lakewood Park Rangers, deputies boarded a patrol boat, contacted the juvenile suspects and safely brought them back to shore," officials said. They were charged with burglary and criminal trespass for breaking into the lodge at Soda Lakes last week. One of the teens was reported to be "yelling and smashing walls and windows with two-by-fours" inside the lodge, officials said.
