A police officer shot and killed an armed suspect holding a hostage in Longmont, city officials said.
Monday afternoon's incident stemmed from a domestic dispute at a home near the intersection of Creekside Drive and Eagle View Circle.
"The suspect stated several times that he had a gun and refused to comply with multiple commands," officials said. "Following those commands and the suspect's refusal to cooperate, an officer fired his weapon."
The man, age 20, was pronounced dead at hospital. He was believed to be "a defendant in a pending case in Boulder County, involving the same victim," officials said.
